It was very nice over all - comfy and cozy -

Excellent property with beautiful views and privacy. Great place to get away from it all. Enjoyed the hot tub on the deck. Location is close to near by town and restaurants. Can’t wait to stay at another one of Mendocino preferred properties.

An ideal location. Private but close to Mendocino. Peaceful with sightings of deer and foxes. Excellent accommodations. Roomy, comfortable, clean, well-appointed and supplied. Mendocino Preferred was very responsive to all of our needs and questions. They even acknowledged a family birthday. We will be back.

We had a nice stay here. Welcomed to fresh flowers, really nicely folded (like origami) towels and toilet paper, some complimentary whiskey in a glass bottle. Place was clean and comfortable - nice bedding and comfy bed. The kitchen items are minimal but we didn’t cook there so not an issue. Hot tub was perfect size for two. They did stress not changing the temp the tub is set to but it was set to 97 when we got there so we turned it up. They also stressed to put straps on after each use but straps were broken. Light for hot tub was also not working but not needed. The moon was bright. Shower is small but does the job. All in all, we enjoyed the stay!

My husband and I have stayed many times at The Hayloft. Perfect getaway. Perfect size. The home has always been clean and very inviting. We love it!

We loved everything abut our time at the hayloft. it was near enough to everything we wanted to see and do and far enough away to feel like we were really "away from it all." The place was ideal - clean and comfortable. We didn't have any issues with the mattress like previous visitors mentioned so maybe they replaced it. The shower was small but by non means inconveniently so. The WIFI worked well as did the TV and DVD player once we figured out the instructions were for different brands than the one s there, but that wasn't something we either needed or used more than once. The hot tub was everything we expected. We will definitely be back.

Had an amazing and relaxing trip at the Hayloft! Communication was great and the house was cozy and clean.

Check in was very easy. The bourbon was a nice touch for us weary travelers after an 8 hour drive. The location is wonderful, the loft is cozy, and the kitchen is fully functional. Hot tub of course was great; I will say it is highly chlorinated and may have ruined some jewelry (need to see it if will clean up), but I recommend guests remove jewelry before getting into the hot tub. The vacation property managers are wonderful and really worked with us on a reschedule following a tragic loss in my family. I really appreciated working with them and they made the process easy for us during a very hard time. One thing I really loved about the property is how safe it felt, it is very “tucked in”, and Warner Lane makes for a great morning walk without too many faces or cars to pass you by.

Some constructive criticisms: the nails on the deck are uplifting from the wood and could definitely hurt a bare foot! The mattress is subpar, a bit saggy. Furniture and decor are a bit outdated, and the windows look like they need fixing/replaced - the double pane sky lights were constantly fogged up so we couldn’t enjoy the night sky in bed. The hand cranked windows didn’t always crank and some knobs weren’t very secure.

Above all, it was a lovely stay and we had a hard time leaving beautiful Mendocino.

The loft was extremely clean, private, property was quiet, hot tub worked perfectly, very nice experience! Great hiking near by and Glass Beach is a must to see!!

We had an amazing stay at this studio. It was very very comfy with great recliner and sofa and a great heat producing gas fireplace. The place is large with an open layout. And great location 7 minutes outside of mendocino. Also it was very quiet and private.
The management company was friendly and helpful and left info and treats for both the humans and the dog! We will be coming back!

The Hayloft was cozy and perfect. It was remote but not far from town. Exactly as pictured. And big plus that it was dog friendly. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and the fireplace non stop. The place was set up with everything we needed. Nicely decorated, great size, and we absolutely loved it. The one improvement that could be made is the bathroom, particularly the shower. It is tiny and old, and the showerhead is literally at shoulder height. Since the jacuzzi is very strongly chlorinated it was crucial to shower after every use, however we dreaded the shower a bit. The bathroom overall is very small.
Other than that, the Mgmt Company did a great job with lots of information provided that was helpful to have.
We would absolutely stay here again.

The Hayloft is a wonderful place to stay just outside of Mendocino; 5 minutes in the special area known as the Pygmy Forest. The place was clean and sweet; especially the hot tub at night under the stars. The property management was easy to work with and we will be returning.

This would be a five-star review if not for a couple of concerns - the instructions for the fireplace and media (tv/dvd) were not updated - it took us quite a while to figure it all out, and the internet never worked for the four days we were there. That said, the place was luxurious, clean, close to the village and beautiful. The hot tub was a great temperature, and the brandy left out was a nice touch, as well...really enjoyed it. I'd stay again but, as it's lovely to watch a movie with the fire going at night, I'd bring my own dvds, as the choices there are outdated and few, and there was no internet access to netflix, hulu, etc.

The Hayloft is a quiet, peaceful space. Far enough away from town to feel secluded. But close enough to the town and beach to enjoy a quick afternoon out. Hands down my new favorite spot and I will definitely be back soon!!!

This was our fourth time to stay at the Hayloft. We love it....the coziness, the fireplace and especially the hot tub. The night sky from the hot tub is amazing. The Hayloft is our go-to when visiting Mendocino.

This was our second time staying here and it was just as relaxing and enjoyable as the first. Perhaps more so since I didn’t break my toe the morning before arriving. The location is amazing, close enough to town for easy access, but removed enough to feel remote and give you a break from society.

This was our second stay at The Hayloft. We drove out from Texas to visit with our daughter and her family over the Thanksgiving Holiday. We love the Hayloft. It is the perfect place for us being right down the street from my daughter's house. It has everything we need, plus it is clean and comfortable. If we have to be away from our own home, it is our "go-to place in Mendocino. Our home away from home.
We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for privacy and a serene environment nestled among the trees.

We loved staying at the Hayloft. The place was exactly as advertised. It was private, clean and close to Mendocino. The jacuzzi was fabulous. The bathroom was clean. The bed was comfortable. My only complaint was that the internet connection was real spotty. We lost wifi for a whole day of our stay. Given that there's no cell reception at that location, wifi is crucial. If it is possible to upgrade that, you really should do so.

Enjoyable getaway. This was a new discovery for us on/near Mendo Coast. Midnight hot tubbing was great under the stars. Closed to Restaurants and beaches. will come back again hoping for clearer sky.

We wanted a spot away from town but not too far....this was perfect. Clean and charming with everything needed to make breakfast. All meals could be prepared in the kitchen space, but we preferred mid-day and evening dining with local friends. Such a nice spot to make home base for a few days while we celebrated a birthday, Property management was excellent and easily contacted. Wonderful all around.

We loved our stay at the Hayloft & would highly recommend this place to anyone interested in a clean, light-filled, private and very romantic spot, complete with fireplace & hot tub. This is also very close to Mendocino Village for any grocery, fine restaurants, etc. The only lament I would have is that there is no washer/dryer and not sufficient dishes for entertaining any additional guests or family members. Other than that we were given a very warm welcome with beautiful fresh flowers & a decanter of scotch. Very nice! We would stay here again anytime. Thank you very much❣️

Cute studio just outside Mendocino proper. Very comfortable with a large, usable kitchen. The hottub needed some serious attention.

I took my wife here for our 10 year anniversary and is was perfect. The location was just out of town and very quite and peaceful. We would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay in the Hayloft. It was fun to soak in the hot tub looking over the pygmy forest. We were able to get a closer look at some of the strange plants that inhabit the forest. The rental was very comfortable and it had everything we needed for a very pleasant stay.

Lovely property, very private, spacious and gracious!

On our second day my fiancé was sitting on the sofa looking around and told me that he would actually buy something exactly like the rental. We both loved the location and the quaintness of the rental. It was clean and decorated so nicely did it truly did offer coziness and home comfort.

What a perfect little place to stay! Hottubbing every night under the stars and in the morning with coffee! The unit is very well done with plenty of space for two!

This was our second time visiting the Hayloft. The space is immaculately clean, and the small touches that Mendocino Preferred puts into their service are well worth it. We always feel like we're staying at a five star hotel with them.

It could not have been more perfect.

This was our first time staying at The Hayloft, and what a good choice! The apartment was very clean. The bed is super comfortable. The fireplace rocks! The hot tub on the deck was perfect. The place is roomy with comfortable furniture. The basics items are in the kitchen, and it was nice to have a dining table. You are in the quiet woods, but only a few minutes from Mendocino and the beach. Overall, a wonderful find, and we will stay there again!

This is a very private little place. Super spacious, and even though it's an open floor plan, it feels like you have a full living room, kitchen, dining room, and bedroom...just no doors. Loved it! Super quiet and sitting on the deck to enjoy a beverage before dinner was delightful. The spa at night was lovely - sometimes had coastal mist, and sometimes the stars overhead were just so clear you could see the Milky Way. Can't get that in a city hotel! Very short drive to town and grocery store, and even bigger city of Ft. Bragg is just 25 minutes north. Beaches are all up and down the coast - wonderful. Just be sure to check to see if bathrooms are locked - some are due to COVID. If you have time, we recommend Pacific Star Winery just north of Ft. Bragg. Bring your picnic lunch, and enjoy your wine overlooking waves crashing on rocks below the bluff. Super way to relax on vacation. Already planning a trip back. 8 nights was just right to really relax. The loft was very clean. The deck was older, but we didn't feel it was unsafe. We didn't want to leave.

I was impressed. It was very clean and I especially was touched by the thoughtfulness of the personalized dog toys. The patio seating and woodsy view was very relaxing. I definitely recommend The Hayloft!

We normally would want a rental on the coast with a good ocean view. This time we tried the Hayloft which is a little inland in the forest above Mendocino. The Location had it's good points. There is absolutely no street noise. The cottage is very private and very close to Mendocino. The Hayloft is small but the layout is good and we found it very comfortable. The Hayloft was very clean inside and out. The bed and bedding were very comfortable which is always a concern with vacation rentals. The view is of the forest and you do not see the owner's house except for when you drive in. This is a nice property and I would recommend it for a couple or single.

What you get at the Hayloft is a meticulously clean, cozy, conveniently located paradise. It's close to town, but not so close that we didn't get a gorgeous starry night in the hot tub (shooting stars and all). The staff made everything easy and offered some much appreciated personal touches as well. We will definitely stay here again!!!

The Hayloft was the perfect place for our quite get-away. The loft is great, everything you need and more. There is lots of room, it is nicely laid out and the furniture and all the little extras are very nice.
The loft was well maintained and very clean, the hot tub is a great way to end the day.
The location is very private and quite yet a short drive into the town of Mendocino and many other areas.
The property manager was very helpful and provided excellent service in handling our stay and any questions we had.
When we visit Mendocino next we will be sure to stay at the Hayloft.

This was A wonderful private getaway. The place is just out of town so there’s no noise and complete privacy but close enough to town so as to be very convenient.
The personal touches including a Decanter of Brandy and thick cotton robes Added to the specialness of the retreat.
The inter-net wasn’t really working fully while we were there but that was a problem with the Internet service not with the facility itself. If Internet availability is critical for you I would recommend checking in advance about that.
This was one of the most relaxing days that I’ve taken in a long time.

Stayed at the Hayloft for several days to celebrate our anniversary. Awesome location, quiet, and scenic. Hot tub was great. Had lots of problems with windows opening (handles on the two (third was marked off limits) skylights and bathroom and kitchen windows), which was a bit of a pain because we wanted to ventilate at night and early morning, then close up during the warmer part of the day.
Overall a good experience and we'd definitely book again, just not perfect.

The Hayloft was a perfect place for a mini vacation with our dog. We were so close to Mendocino and our favorite beach at Big River yet secluded and cozy in the apt. Everything was well cared for and the property managers and owners were very responsive to our needs. Brandy and chocolates were a nice welcoming touch when we arrived in the evening also...

The location was peaceful and beautiful.
The accommodations clean and of much superior quality to most rentals in my experience.

I was largely unaware of the Mendocino area until I began browsing rentals for a Christmas gift for my girlfriend. I ran across options in the area and was lured by the coast, Redwoods, wine tasting, brews and seafood. An escape with amenities.

I must say, that was delivered and more, especially with the help of this location! For starters, I believe I snagged this place for an excellent rate; the location is a mere 5 minutes to town, 20 minutes to other attractions and just under 30 to several top notch Anderson Valley wineries. The Hayloft is a flat residing above a garage and features a deck and a balcony, a studio setup with a warm and cozy feel, but sparkling clean. The hot tub helped us to relax with a bottle of local wine beneath the stars after long hikes in the surrounding forest.

The biggest surprise had to be the reception from the management company (Mendocino Preferred). There was no one on site, but the personal touches and care were present in every detail. We arrived on a chilly March night, but entered the flat to the comforting glow of soft lighting, and a warm fireplace roaring away. There was an instruction packet that outlined both rules and attractions around the area, including tide charts and trails! They evem left notes around the space informing us of odd quirks on how to open an older window or drawing our attention to the welcoming cognac!

This location and management company combined for an awesome experience, and we certainly plan on returning to the area, and this location is at the top of our list.

I am a repeat visitor and always look forward to and enjoy this quiet, lovely space. It is close enough to town to enjoy the hustle and bustle along with the peace and quiet. I'll be back again for sure.

We just returned from a 5 day stay at the Hayloft. The studio rental is located only a short drive (less than 5 minutes) from the town of Mendocino. It is spacious for a studio and very cozy. We enjoyed the gas fire place every morning and evening, and relaxed quite comfortably on the sofa and recliner. The full size kitchen has all the pots, pans and utensils needed to prepare your meals. The kitchen window looks out right over the tops of the pygmy forest trees. It truly feels like staying in a tree house! This is our second time staying and would highly recommend addition, the Mendocino Preferred staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

This is the perfect rental for a solo or romantic getaway with the one you love. The apartment is in a very private location surrounded by trees, and although the owner's home is 150 feet away, you feel like they are miles from you. The hot tub is conveniently located on the deck facing the woods, and not the owner's home. The apartment is spotlessly clean, cozy, warm and comfortable. The gas fire place is a real treat when the coast throws it's fog and chill your way. The kitchen is full sized, so you aren't trying to deal with a hot plate and motel sized frig. The bed is very comfortable, and it was almost too quiet to sleep!!! The town of Mendocino is literally minutes away, with it's shops, restaurants, miles of bluffs to walk and extremely friendly people! I appreciated all of the "how to" notes all around the home and the sense of humor that the owners displayed! Green frogs indeed! (Yes, you'll have to go to find out what that means!!!) I loved my stay there and can't wait to bring the hubby back with me the next time.

We had a great time in this little cottage, just minutes away from Mendocino. The place was clean, and while the kitchen supplies were sparse, we managed fine. The bed was, at first, uncomfortable, as it's very soft. But by the second night, we were used to it and slept soundly.

This was a really cute place and in a good location, close to downtown Mendocino. Very clean and well kept. Best of all we could take our little dog with us.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Hayloft. The property is located a few miles outside Mendocino, which made easy day trips up and down the coast. We found the room comfortable and well maintained. It was great for relaxing after a day's outing with a glass of wine on the deck, The property management company was very helpful and made certain that everything was ready for our stay.

It doesn't have an ocean view, but it was quiet, relaxing and perfect! It is close to town, has all the amenities and was a quiet get away. The hot tub any time of the day was wonderful. Plenty of space for two people. My husband and I would recommend to anyone.
