• We've been coming to the coast now for many years. Ocean Splendor by far exceeded all of our expectations! We loved the seclusion, the awesome views & were extremely impressed by the cleanliness & special touches... the robes, the flowers, the chocolates. • We came here with simple dreams - to see, hear, smell and feel the ocean - on my husband's 50th birthday, but we are leaving now with so much more... a memory for a lifetime of pleasant surprises at every turn - hot tubbing by moonlight, starry nights, sightings of gray whales migrating, sun-drenched naps, red-tail hawks dancing in the wind, cozy fires from every vantage, garden walks by day and night, the comfiest bed to watch movies all night, the comfiest chair to read all day, breakfast for two in the morning sunlight, and a very delicious dinnat at Albion too... • Okay - this is awesome! Each time we go away and try a new spot we think it's wonderful, but this place goes way beyond anywhere we have stayed... ever! We have had the most relaxing and enjoyable time we have ever had. This home is magnificent. Our only regret is that we have to leave! When we are home it is busy, filled with children, pets, family, friends... every day, every minute. We love our life and all that is in it - and we need time every 6 months or so to get away together - away from all the busyness, and focus on ourselves and one another. The privacy here is fantastic. We felt like we were the only ones in the world here. We spent hours just sitting and watching the waves. They got bigger & bigger as the storm moved through - huge hail, unbelievable winds, lightning, rain, rain, rain, gigantic waves - what a storm! We love it... we didn't feel the need to go anywhere. We had brought groceries for our stay - so we cooked, drank champagne, wine, morning coffee & danish at the table by the window. We did get a walk in to Little River and the beach, and a lemondrop and calamari at the bar there - otherwise we just lounged or watched a couple of movies. Thank you so much for this incredible stay. We go home now having fallen in love all over again!, and rested and ready to be with our incredible boys. With much appreciation and gratitude... • About 4 years ago we discovered Mendocino & Fort Bragg. We previously rented a home in Fort Bragg, but in planning our spring trip we found that the house was off the market. We live in the Texas hill country, which, as you know, is very beautiful, however, it lacks the ocean which Cutly and I really love. We both have hectic careers and we have raised 5 kids. After 23 years of marriage, there is still nothing we would rather do than be together in seclusion, reading, looking at the ocean, and cooking. Ocean Splendor is everything that we dream about. We spent hours relaxing, looking out the windows, reading, and cooking in your beautiful kitchen. We hope you will continue to make your home available because we plan on returning many times. We talked to Sue today about returning for our anniversary in October or for my birthday in November. If you're ever passing through Austin, we'd love to buy you a margarita. Thanks again!... • "Oh, my God" & "Wow" - During the first hour of our arrival, I think these are the only words I said and kept saying over and over again.... Ocean Splendor indeed - one breath-taking view after another! This getaway weekend is a birthday gift from my husband. Mike has always been generous and extravagant, but he truly outdid himself this time! We so needed a weekend escape. Ocean Splendor more than fulfilled our dreams. We have had the good fortune of staying in some really amazing accommodations - in the U.S. and abroad. • A few months ago, God brought someone very special into my life... Dave. For his 49th birthday, I wanted to do something very special for him. He had told me that his favorite weekend get-away would be to Mendocino. Sooo... I did my searching on the web and discovered the magnificant "Ocean Splendor". To keep Dave in suspense, when we entered the main drive, I blindfolded him and took him inside to the windows and then removed the blindfold... to begin a breath-taking, most beautiful weekend I've ever had... These are Dave's words: "When Vicki removed the blindfold, it was the most spectacular views of my life time. We spent our time completely at the house... sunbathing, watching the seagulls, and watching the full moon set over the ocean. This was my 49th birthday gift which was the best ever... a lifetime memory." We will be back.... Vicki & Dave

• My sweet, soulful man spoils me regularly (lucky me - I am a well-loved woman!), but he outdid himself with our stay at your beautiful home... Perhaps 2 of the best days we've ever shared.
