Just for the record, however, we are in northern California and we're on the coast. Simple? Yes, but since northern California may not be descriptive enough to some, we will try to narrow it down a bit:
Mendocino and Mendocino Preferred Vacation Rental Homes are:
about 225 to 250 miles from the Oregon border (5 hours?)
a few thousand miles east of Tokyo (figure a day or two.. or longer if you're windsurfing) and
a couple of inches east of the Pacific Ocean (how long does it take to inch forward?)
...and Mendocino Preferred Vacation Home rentals are within a stone's throw... or a few miles... of Mendocino.
Does that help? Just in case, we will throw in a few fancy directions to follow. Of course, we assume you will be driving...about the only way to get here from there... unless you fly in with your private plane, but more on that later. We have selected a few starting points which you may recognize; you can match or adjust your own starting point to those given here. Or... to find the distance from any point to the Mendocino Coast (or from anywhere to anywhere), take a look at a terrific website called "How Far Is It", developed by Darrell Kindred. Keep in mind that the distances are in miles AS THE CROW FLIES.
As Roy and Dale were fond of saying, "Happy Trails"!
Smart travelers check road conditions, especially in winter and stormy weather. It doesn't happen often, but roads are sometimes closed, detours are in effect and/or there are delays because of construction or repair. Those same smart travelers call the California Transportation Department
(CALTRANS)for current road conditions throughout the state.
