We first came to the village of Mendocino 18 years ago on our honeymoon and have been back countless times since. We have stayed everywhere - in town, out on the bluffs... but never had as wonderful and relaxing a time as we have experienced here at "Alderwood House". It is perfect.

The home is beautiful in every detail - such care and thought given to each aspect. Beautifully decorated, tastefully furnished - yet comfortable. Our children fell right to sleep the first night without a peep, cozy and nestled deep in the covers. Our bed, in the Blue Room, was by far the most comfortable I've ever slept on! Each window frames the green woods, with lush color popping through.

It's been delightful. We feel honored to have been the first guests and we know we will be back. Alderwood House is a place of joy, of time spent together, of laughter, relaxation, happiness and peace. What a blessing!... Thank you for this gift.

My sixteen-year-old daughter just sighed and said, "Mom, I love it here!" That's a high compliment from a teen spending the week with her parents far away from the "madding crowd!" We've had a wonderful stay. The house is beautiful and very comfortable, a great place to relax and enjoy spending time with family. A great escape from our hectic lives! We hope to come back.
